Castle Lake is the largest and deepest alpine lake in the area offering water sports, picnicking, hiking and camping. Also, hike to the pristine alpine lakes of Heart and Upper Castle.
We will snorkeling here. The variety of fishes will give as a lessons :)
Trolling for trout provides fair action at Castle Lake, or another option is to fly-fish from along the northern shore right after the Department of Fish and Game stocks the lake with 2,000 rainbows in the 10 to 12" range and 1,500 fingerlings. You’ll have success hooking brook and rainbow trout with salmon eggs, roe, mini-crawlers, red worms and bright-colored power bait.
If you like whitewater, there is the Tangle Blue Creek to Clair Engle Lake segment, a category III-IV whitewater sweep on Trinity River, 13.
Everybody needs to go for a camping trip once in a while, and Kangaroo Lake Campground in California is a really magnificent place to spend some time. There's absolutely no way to get bored in California if you fancy the outdoors. Many folks stay at this campground to be near Shasta National Forest.
Kangaroo Lake Campground is extremely popular and when you have had the opportunity to enjoy this campground you will feel like another person.
The magnificent local attractions and all the outdoors recreation are good incentives to come.
The Lower Klamath is one of the most scenic whitewater rafting trips in California. Fun Class II - III rapids are interspersed between calm warm pools; excellent for swimming. Take your time and enjoy the many side hikes the river has to offer with beautiful cascading waterfalls and Gold Rush history.
We will stay overnight at Happy Camp accesses some great country.
